Our Black brothers and sisters are calling us, as white allies, to “do the work” of examining our inner racism and implicit support of unjust and unequal systems. And we are being invited to commit ourselves to sustained efforts to dismantle systemic racism. This learning lab is designed as an on ramp for white Christians who want to take practical steps to become anti-racist justice seekers. Each session will begin with listening to and learning from a black leader. In this 5 session online Lab we will support each other to take the following steps:
1) LISTEN and learn from black voices with humility and curiosity
2) LAMENT and acknowledge how we have benefited from and participated in systems of oppression
3) DEEPEN our relationships across race and cultural boundaries
4) INVEST our time, money, voices, votes and bodies to join the struggle for racial justice
5) AMPLIFY voices of color, seek to become better advocates and speak out against injustice
