In 2007 my first book, SOUL GRAFFITI: Making A Life in the Way of Jesus, was published by Jossey-Bass and the following year it was released as a paper back. I am currently working on a follow up book about an activist group approach to spiritual formation and social engagement. I also write occasional articles and do some consulting with CONSPIRE magazine.
Many people have found SOUL GRAFFITI to be a practical tool for helping people explore a more holistic and integrative understanding of the life and teachings of Jesus. I believe that the times we are living have brought up new questions about what it means to be spiritual or God-conscious, and for Christians in particular, what it means to follow the way of Jesus given the complexity of an emerging global culture.
As an author its important for me to be in conversation with my readers. When a group of people read SOUL GRAFFITI together, I offer to do a free 30 minute video chat to hear their reactions and answer questions about the material.
Whatever Soul Graffiti fans lack for in shear numbers, they make up for in pluck. James Best and his wife liked the message of the book so much that they got matching tattoos of the cover image on their arms for all posterity. They did this instead of getting rings when they joined 
Dan Kimball and family were kind enough to make the drive up from Santa Cruz to see our show in Oakland this summer– even though they had been displaced by the forest fires near their home. (Am just posting now because I finally figured out how to reduce photo size).
