On Saturday my kids and I went to a city-sponsored event at the park across the street from our house. Several police officers were on detail and I asked about the girl who had been shot on our corner three weeks before. I thought she would be fine since there wasn’t much blood and she seemed conscious when they loaded her into the ambulance. One of the officers said that the bullet, which had entered her armpit and exited her back slightly grazed her spine– and she is now paralyzed from the neck down. How tragic! Pray for the unnamed girl who appeared to be ninteen.
